PRE-CONCERT CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS: Symphony in the Glen’s pre-concert children's programs begin at 4:30 PM (an hour and a half prior to the main symphony concert). We ask parents to prepare by arriving a few minutes before (4:15 PM). By being able to start promptly at 4:30, it insures that all children will be able to participate in these engaging pre-concert programs, which help focus children on the main concert performance. The activities are designed for parent/child learning–your personal participation enhances the learning and the fun.

GOOD CONCERT MANNERS: Making children feel welcome at the concerts is very important to Symphony In The Glen. Still, we need every parent's help. Experience has taught us that it takes an extra effort to gently make kids aware that they must speak softly while the music is playing. During the performance help your children understand that those around you are trying to hear music. It helps to bring quiet activities for your children to occupy them should they get restless. Knowing good concert manners will serve your children well for a lifetime.

RESTLESSNESS: If all else fails there is plenty of space away from the immediate concert area to take your child where he or she can run off a little steam. The performers and everyone around you will greatly appreciate your efforts.

SUPERVISION: Your children should be kept close to you at all times and not allowed to wander without adult supervision. Romping and noisy playing is not permitted on the immediate fringes of the performance area or backstage.
